Long Story
Where did “builtbybanjo” come from?
In 2012 I started working on freelance web dev projects for some extra income. When brainstorming names for my creative endeavors I looked to my new puppy for inspiration. Her name was Banjo.
As she grew up she was always by my side, late at night while I stared into cyber space, keeping me company while we both worked and listened to music until the sun came up. She was such a loyal dog that I thought to myself, “if she could use a computer, I know she’d be willing to help me.” She was a part of every project.

Over the years Banjo got older and throughout all the projects I brought home she remained by my side. I eventually got builtbybanjo.com to portfolio these projects.

A number of vehicles rolled through the workshop. Banjo was always ready for a test ride and didn't have trouble sleeping through loud noises or on dusty driveways
When we moved to Austin, we began the biggest undertaking yet; renovating a house that was built in 1978 and previously untouched. Banjo loved this place the best because she had a place to swim. She lived in every room of the house as we worked our way through it's long list of things to be fixed.
In 2024, just 4 days short of her 12th birthday, we unexpectedly had to say goodbye to Banjo. She will forever be a part of everything I work on. After she passed I rebuilt this site to remain as a memorial to my long time companion.
